Tornado watch in effect until 10 p.m.; safe room open

A tornado watch was issued for the area until 10 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, a notice posted at 2:40 p.m. said.

The notice said the Community Safe Room at 7312 Highway 51 has been opened to all residents and will remain available for the duration of the watch.

Residents were urged to monitor the weather closely and be prepared to take immediate shelter if a tornado occurs, the notice said.
