Tornado Watch Lifted in Local Area; Safe Room Closed
The tornado watch issued for the area on Tuesday afternoon has been lifted, according to local authorities. The watch had been in effect until 10 p.m. CDT.
The Community Safe Room located at 7312 Highway 51 was opened earlier in the day to provide shelter for residents. It remained open throughout the duration of the watch and has now closed, as the threat has subsided.
Officials urge residents to stay alert and monitor weather updates for any further developments. They advise having an emergency plan in place and being ready to seek shelter if necessary.
There have been no reports of damages or injuries related to the weather event so far, authorities said.
