Police commend officers for quick rescue of kidnapped child in Memphis
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division received commendations for their quick and effective response in rescuing a four-year-old child kidnapped in a custodial abduction. Detective Chase, Lieutenant Moore, Detective Bailey, Detective Stout, Detective Nowell, and Investigative Analyst Kovatch were honored by Captain Keene for their roles in the operation.
According to authorities, the officers utilized investigative resources to track the suspect vehicle, identify a potential location, and locate both the child and the suspect in Memphis, Tennessee, within three hours of the initial call. The child was recovered unharmed, police said.
The suspect has been charged with kidnapping. While police described the response as routine, the child’s family and community called it a heroic effort. The officers’ swift actions prevented further harm to the child, authorities added.
