Tornado watch in effect until 10 p.m.; community safe room opened

A tornado watch was issued at 8 p.m. Tuesday for the local area and will remain in effect until 10 p.m. CDT, local officials said.

Officials said the community safe room at 7312 Highway 51 opened and is available to all residents for the duration of the watch.

Officials urged residents to monitor the weather closely and be prepared to take immediate shelter if a tornado is reported.
