A tornado watch was issued for the area until 5 a.m. CDT, local officials said Monday night. Officials said the watch was issued at 9:50 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2026.
The Community Safe Room at 7312 Highway 51 has been opened to all residents and will remain open for the duration of the watch, officials said.
Officials urged residents to monitor the weather closely and be prepared to take immediate shelter if an actual tornado occurs.
