Pegrim named Southaven Police Officer of the Month

Southaven Police Department has announced Officer Chase Pegrim as its Officer of the Month.

According to the announcement, Pegrim was involved in making 15 misdemeanor arrests, 48 traffic stops, and he issued 51 citations.  Pegrim responded to 207 calls for service in the month of February.

One incident in particular was noted about Pegrim in the announcement by the police department. In that situation, Pegrim was able to positively identify a known suspect from a photo where the suspect was later arrested on false pretense and while on a traffic stop,

“Officer Pegrim was able to identify that the driver was under the influence of narcotics,” the statement said. “Additionally, Officer Pegrim’s ability to quickly relay information regarding a suspicious driver and their vehicle led to the arrest of a juvenile in possession of a firearm and potentially prevented an armed robbery.”
