Scare on the Square is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Historic Downtown Batesville Square. The Panola County Sheriff’s Office shared a notice inviting the public to join Batesville Main Street for a morning of Halloween activities.
The event will include trick-or-trunk activities beginning at 10 a.m. Organizers said attendees can grab candy bags and visit decorated trunks around the square without lining up.
A Halloween costume contest will be open to children ages 0 to 12, along with a family or group category. Contest registration will take place at tents by the stage from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants are asked to return to the stage at 11:30 a.m. for the final costume-contest walk-through and winner announcements.
