Olive Branch Police Department Announces 19th Annual Summer Camps

The Olive Branch Police Department will host its 19th annual summer camps, offering activities for local youth. The camps, called Camp B.U.I.L.D. and Camp S.H.A.P.E., return this year with new features and are free to participants.

Camp B.U.I.L.D. is open to students in grades 2 through 8 and will be held at Olive Branch Intermediate School from June 1 to June 26. The camp runs Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants must be picked up between 12 and 12:30 p.m., and parents are advised to make arrangements accordingly.

Activities at Camp B.U.I.L.D. include meeting new friends, teamwork exercises, sports such as basketball, soccer, and flag football, and law enforcement demonstrations, according to the department.

Camp S.H.A.P.E. is designed for high school students in grades 9 through 12 and will be held at Center Hill Middle School during the same dates and times. The camp focuses on personal development, self-defense, fitness, financial literacy, and career readiness.

Applications for both camps are available online and at the Olive Branch Police Department. The deadline to submit applications is May 29. All applications must be notarized or certified before submission. Notarization services are available free of charge at the police department from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the child present.

Officials encourage interested families to apply early, as the camps aim to provide engaging activities for local youth during the summer months.
