The Olive Branch Police Department said it kicked off the 19th year of Camp BUILD and the third year of Camp SHAPE, welcoming campers for a week of activities designed for youth development, the department said in a social media post.
The department said campers will learn leadership principles, teamwork, responsibility, character development and basic life skills throughout the week.
The post thanked sponsors and credited the DeSoto County school system for allowing the department to use its facilities, the department said.
The department included the line “Leaders of today are the foundation of tomorrow” in its post and tagged Mayor Ken Adams and several local accounts, including City of Olive Branch – Government, DeSoto County Schools eNews, Olive Branch Intermediate School and @Centerhillmiddleschool, according to the post.
