The Olive Branch Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy continued with a Week 3 session that included instruction from school resource officers and a presentation on Taser use, the department reported.
The session was held last Thursday, according to the department’s post. Officers Tekendria Rice and Pierre Stinson led the class and discussed the role of the School Resource Officer Division in protecting schools and building relationships with students and the community.
Sergeant Andrew Artz concluded the night with a presentation on Taser deployment and its effects. The department reported that several participants volunteered for the full experience and gained firsthand knowledge of how the Taser is used when properly deployed.
The department also thanked John, the manager of Mugshot’s in Olive Branch, for attending as an honored guest and providing dinner for the class.
