Olive Branch Police Demonstrate Traffic Enforcement, DUI Testing to Citizens Police Academy Class

The Olive Branch Police Department said Citizens Police Academy Class 33 received a hands-on look at traffic enforcement and DUI procedures on April 16, 2026.

The department said Lt. Bill Higdon of the Traffic Enforcement Division briefed class members on traffic enforcement strategies and how the department reassesses major accidents through accident reconstruction.

The department said Sgt. Reid Harmon and Officer Hunter Granier gave a presentation on the DUI unit. Participants observed how DUI testing is conducted and took part in driving scenarios using impairment goggles, the department said.

The department thanked the officers who took part and said the presentations were intended to give academy participants a practical understanding of traffic safety and DUI enforcement. The program is part of the city of Olive Branch’s Citizens Police Academy, the department said.
