Families lining the route of the DeSoto Central Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, Sept. 23, can look for DeSoto County Sheriff Thomas Tuggle, who will be handing out candy. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office says a local business helped make that possible.
Olive Branch Target steps up
In a Facebook post Tuesday, the sheriff’s office thanked the Target store in Olive Branch for donating candy for the parade. The office gave a special shout-out to Tom, the store’s general manager, and his team.
The sheriff’s office said Target’s generosity is what allowed Sheriff Tuggle to take part in the parade and hand out treats along the route. A photo shared with the post shows a shopping cart loaded with bags and boxes of candy inside the store.
“It’s always great to see local businesses willing to lend a hand and help make community events special,” the sheriff’s office wrote. The office also thanked Tom and the Olive Branch Target team “for supporting DeSoto County.”
