Olive Branch police academy features K-9, drone, SWAT and firearms presentations

The Olive Branch Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy continued with a Week 4 session that included a K-9 division demonstration, a drone presentation, a SWAT team presentation and a firearms safety presentation, according to a department post.

The evening began with biographies of Command Staff members Deputy Chief Joshua Mucciarone and Capt. Bryce Wardlaw, the department said.

The post listed four handler-and-dog pairings at the session: Sgt. Andrew White with K-9 Baka, Sgt. Michael Murphy with K-9 Yarko, Officer Mitchell Fulce with K-9 Riki and Officer Jared Lancaster with K-9 Tony.

Detective Josh Ford led the drone presentation. The SWAT team also demonstrated what the department described as its selflessness and commitment to one another when entering the unknown.

Lenny’s provided dinner for the class, the department said.
