Officer Michael Collier has been promoted to patrol lieutenant with the Olive Branch Police Department. According to the department, Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams, the Board of Aldermen and Police Chief Carlos E. Garcia recognized Collier’s promotion last week.
Collier was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1981 and has been a DeSoto resident all his life, the department said. He graduated from the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer Training Academy in January 2009 and began his law enforcement career with the Olive Branch Police Department.
During his law enforcement career, Collier has served as a field training officer, DUI officer, SWAT team member, firearms instructor and less-lethal instructor. The department said he returned to the Olive Branch Police Department in 2022, bringing nearly two decades of law enforcement experience back to the community where he has lived for many years.
