Olive Branch lieutenant speaks at Brown Missionary Baptist youth camp

Lieutenant Carlos Wilson of the Olive Branch Police Department spoke to boys ages 11 to 15 at Brown Missionary Baptist Church’s annual David & Jonathan Camp, the department said in a social media post.

The post said the camp encourages young men to grow and transition into responsible, respectful and courageous citizens. Wilson spoke about ‘‘being the change they wish to see in the world,’’ leading by example and making a positive impact, the department said.

The Olive Branch Police Department thanked Brown Missionary Baptist Church for the invitation and hospitality and said partnerships that mentor youth help build stronger leaders for the future, according to the post.

The department’s post also included tags for Ken Adams, mayor of Olive Branch, and Brown Missionary Baptist Church, and said the department looks forward to seeing participants again next year.
