The Horn Lake Police Department announced this week that Capt. Strauser has retired after 23 years of service, the department said.
In a statement, the department said Strauser brought “strength, patience and heart” to his work. Officials described him as authentic and genuine and said he often used humor while on duty.
The department said Strauser made a lasting impact on colleagues and helped lighten even the toughest shifts. “Strauser stories” will continue to be told around the department, the statement said.
The department congratulated Strauser on a well-earned retirement and said he will be missed by those who served alongside him, according to the statement.
