Chief Danny Scallions retired after 34 years with the Southaven Fire Department, the City of Southaven said in a municipal government post. Mayor Musselwhite, family, coworkers and friends attended a ceremony, the city said.
The city said the event included thoughtful recognition honoring Scallions for his insight, kindness and compassion toward staff.
Members from Fire Station 3 raised a flag on Truck 3, and the Honor Guard presented Scallions with a flag that had been flown at all five fire stations, the city said.
Current staff, retirees and personnel from surrounding agencies attended to thank Scallions and wish him well, the city said. The city thanked him for his years of service and wished him well in retirement.
