Olive Branch police captain Jason Oliveria promoted to major

Captain Jason Oliveria has been promoted to Major of the Olive Branch Police Department’s Accreditation, Training and Public Relations divisions, the department said. He was recognized for the promotion on Monday, Oct. 12, by Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams, the Board of Aldermen and Police Chief Carlos E. Garcia.

Oliveria began his law enforcement career with the department in December 2006 as a patrol officer. During his career, he served as a DUI/ARIDE certified officer, patrol sergeant, patrol lieutenant, street crimes lieutenant and captain of the Accreditation, Training and Public Relations divisions.

The department said Oliveria also played a significant role in maintaining its compliance with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, known as CALEA.

The Olive Branch Police Department attributed the promotion to Oliveria’s dedication, professionalism, leadership abilities and commitment to protecting and serving Olive Branch residents. The department also said he earned the respect of his peers through his service in several specialized roles.
