Pedestrian on bicycle killed in Olive Branch crash, police say

A person riding a bicycle died Friday after being struck by a vehicle at Germantown Road (Hwy. 305) and Cedar Crest Lane, the Olive Branch Police Department said.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:06 a.m. Friday after a report that a pedestrian had been struck, the department said. Preliminary information indicates a vehicle traveling southbound on Germantown Road struck the bicyclist, the release said. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries as a result of the collision, the department said.

The Olive Branch Police Department’s Traffic Division is conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the crash, the release said.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Police and Fire departments said in the release, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
