Olive Branch police kick off 2026 Special Olympics torch run
The Olive Branch Police Department said in a social media post that it kicked off the 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run “this morning,” sharing photos of the event. The department said officers, Mayor Ken Adams, city officials and community members took part.
The department said it was proud of the athletes and of the turnout from residents and city staff. It said participants “showed up and showed out” for the athletes, according to the post.
The post singled out Jeff Bell of the Byhalia Police Department and thanked him for his tireless work to ensure athletes were cared for and supported, the department said.
The Olive Branch Police Department said supporting Special Olympics Mississippi is more than an event; it is a commitment. The post said the city looks forward to continuing the tradition for years to come.
