Olive Branch Police Department’s CPA Class 34 took part in an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course last Saturday, giving participants hands-on experience with emergency-vehicle operations, the department said.
Class members met with EVOC instructors Major Reginald Harris, Lt. Bill Higdon and Detective Randall Fisher. Participants navigated the driving course while learning about vehicle control, awareness and decision-making during emergency response situations.
During the driving exercises, participants also watched a live demonstration of the department’s drone technology. Detective Joshua Ford, a drone operator, demonstrated how the drone can monitor and track a vehicle from a distance while providing aerial support and real-time information to officers.
The department thanked Longview Heights Baptist Church for allowing it to use the church’s parking lot for the demonstration and training exercise.
