Olive Branch Citizens Police Academy trains with SWAT, observes drone operations

OLIVE BRANCH, Mississippi — Members of the Olive Branch Citizens Police Academy Class 33 trained alongside the Olive Branch SWAT team at a firing range on April 11, the Olive Branch Police Department said.

The department said class members also observed drone operations in real time and were shown the tools and techniques used by the team. The post said the demonstrations gave participants a deeper understanding of how equipment is used during operations.

The Olive Branch Police Department said the drone demonstration added insight into modern policing and tactical response. The department described the class as engaged and consistent in attending weekly sessions.

The department’s social media post included the name of Mayor Ken Adams and was posted by the City of Olive Branch government account, the department said.
