DeSoto County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m., according to officials. The primary threats include damaging winds up to 70 mph and hail up to quarter size, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Authorities urge residents to remain weather aware and have multiple sources of alerts. The City of Olive Branch offers weather notifications via text message. Residents can sign up by texting “olivebranch” to 888777, according to Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams.
