Cascades development welcomed in Olive Branch

When completed, developers believe the Cascades multi-use development will exude and be a shining welcome to the city of Olive Branch. It is also going to be a place for people to live, work and raise a family, said Gov. Tate Reeves at Wednesday’s groundbreaking for the 170-acre development at Cockrum Road and U.S. 78.
“It’s been my mission since I’ve been governor to make Mississippi the best place in the nation to live, the best place in the nation to work, and the best place in the nation to raise a family,” Reeves said. “The great thing about the Cascades is that here you can do all three things. You can live, you can work, and you can raise a family.”
The $300 million investment will feature 400 residential units, about 125,000 square feet of retail space and 40,000 square feet of office space. The Shopping Center Group (TSCG) of Atlanta, Georgia is now starting to accept pre-lease office and retail space requests for the area.
Marion Threatt of Olive Branch is among the group behind the Cascades.
“We hope to have it completed in two-and-a-half to three years,” Threatt said. “I’m an Olive Branch resident and I love Olive Branch. My business is here and I was raised here, so this is the best place to be.”
In his remarks, Reeves said the Cascades development will be a huge addition for Olive Branch, DeSoto County, and North Mississippi.
“In spite of the pandemic, we’ve seen incredible progress growing our economy,” Reeves said. “Since I’ve been governor, this county has secured more than $450 million in new capital investment and well over 1,000 new jobs associated with those dollars. The real credit goes to our people and our workforce. They are the reason that we’re attracting new capital investments and new jobs are being created here in Olive Branch.”
The Cascades also will have restaurant parcels, 100 townhomes, 58 cottage lots, and a 70-acre park that will be improved and then given to the City of Olive Branch.
As bright as the lights emanate from the retail hub of the Cascades when completed, Reeves said the future of Olive Branch and DeSoto County is bright, and the future of Mississippi is bright.

This sounds so awesome, just make sure the lines are the highest level of quality as many have suffered the nonsense of crossed lines in this area. That ground is old not sure what once resided there old homes or office or industrial, but technically some old parts and this is the old part but it will one day be the New Olive branch, vicinity; however, even Goodman road and Church have been subject to old lines that do not need to be too close to the newer and the old fuses and lines even the wiring has been subject to receiving interference from the higher resolution in Cellular and Satellite services. A bit uncomfortable, especially after water is so close to those things and it picks up.. the outlets for certain have been plagued with that type of annoyance. Weird , the smarter the Meters for example the worst mine circuit did receive interference, from my Internet, and Telephony, including Satellite. We do have crime and I just presumed that was just from technically savoy criminals that Cyber Space Law officials should stay on.
Hopefully, the new investment will be wise and sophisticated enough for this type of crime, that is common now a days as criminals do get smarter.
I enjoy the Silo Square is so peaceful and do look forward to the Cascades being Super Cool, too. Perfect as I read .. all seemed perfect.. all you want in one community. I am a Senior, and am planning to claim my “happy place”, there.. putting aside and .. getting ready to transition to the beautiful
development that I am sure you (the investors and builders ), are getting prepared for, the citizens and the world to appreciate. It can be a waste of time if the developers do not recognize the need to not bury cable that just to likely to pick up interference, the coating and shields/covering have to be on the cords , worst if you put them in the ground, for example; law movers, blowers, motors that move over the ground, simply sound like a radical phone line. But I am sure you can fix this, Lastly, do not forget to add the Sports/Entertainment Center.. to invite the National Boxing, Wrestling, Concerts and other events, that could be an invitation, to even indoor Olympic events. Now, that type of idea would definitely be a POWERHOUSE, of revenue generation, too. Imagine the WWB or the Heavy weight Boxing.. etc right here in Olivebranch,.. or even the Olympics..
Yet, the layout of the Cascades is awesome and that alone, really nice, as well.
Thanks to those involved in this Project, as the Citizens could use an upgraded community. We love Olive branch. The sentiment is varying, many have good reason to want to not leave the city and every reason to plan to appreciate the upgrades in the new community to come.
