Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Board of Aldermen congratulated local pitmaster Heath Riles after he won back-to-back grand champion titles at Memphis in May, the city said.

The Olive Branch Police Department said it will hold its 19th annual Camp BUILD for grades 2-8 and Camp SHAPE for grades 9-12 from June 1 to June 26. Applications are due May 29 and must be notarized before submission.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch police and fire departments urged residents to text “olivebranch” to 888777 to receive emergency alerts as showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday.

DeSoto County said two local spots are nominees in the Best of Mississippi Travel Awards. Voting ends June 15 and residents can vote online.

Organizers are urging prospective and current members to register for Chamber 101 on May 21, saying the session will cover membership benefits, resources and networking opportunities.

The Olive Branch Police Department is hosting its 19th annual summer camps, featuring Camp B.U.I.L.D. for grades 2-8 and Camp S.H.A.P.E. for grades 9-12. Both camps are free and run from June 1 to June 26.
