The Landers Center urged drivers to use alternate routes over the next two weeks as graduation activities are expected to cause heavier traffic at and around the venue on several days in May.

Organizers said a free community shred day will be held Thursday, May 14, at 500 Stateline Road in Southaven, Mississippi. Residents may drive up, drop off documents and have them securely shredded.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Board of Aldermen presented the Mayor’s Award for April to Meter Reader Supervisor Sherrie Bowen after she transported a co-worker for emergency treatment that doctors later said likely saved his life, the board said.
