Note: The Conquistadors mustered two hits in the four-inning contest, base hits from Landon Rombaugh and Chance Shipp, and committed five errors. Among three Olive Branch pitchers, Noah Beech struck out three in two innings.
Northpoint Christian 4, Houston, Tenn. 0
Note: Northpoint scored three times in the fourth inning to break open the contest. Pitcher KL Farr allowed three hits and struck out eight for the Trojans. Isaiah Nolan and Seth Giamportone doubled among six Northpoint hits.
Prep softball
Northpoint Christian 17, Lake Cormorant 7 (5 innings)
Note: Northpoint’s Faith Ryan scored one run on two hits, including a double, and had two RBIs. Katie Bobo tripled and hit a home run, scored three runs and drove in a pair of runs. Josey Jones also tripled and homered for Northpoint. Trinity Garvin walked five but struck out seven in earning the pitching victory. For Lake Cormorant, Alivia Burns scored a run with a double and a triple, and picked up three RBIs. B Irvin also doubled. Lady Gator pitcher Alyssa Boswood gave up six earned runs and struck out three in 4.1 innings.
DeSoto Central 5, Tipton-Rosemark 3
Note: DeSoto Central rallied with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to win the game. Makayla Jamison scored twice and earned a pair of hits, including a double, plus an RBI. Pitcher Colby Young struck out seven and allowed two earned runs in the complete-game victory.

SPORTS ETC: The Jackson Clarion-Ledger took note of the play of Olive Branch’s Jerry Wall by naming him to its Large School All-State Basketball Second Team, and Lewisburg’s Allie Carroll and named her to its Large School All-State Basketball Second Team.
