K9 tracking operation leads officers to juveniles in auto burglary case

Officers responding to a report of breaking glass at a residence on Mayfair located juveniles suspected by police of being responsible for an auto burglary after a K9 tracking operation, according to the Horn Lake Police Department.

The homeowner had been alerted by the sound of breaking glass, and officers were dispatched to the residence. K9 Caine and his handler, Lt. Schuetz, responded and began tracking from the scene, the department said.

Police said K9 Caine followed the suspects’ trail for approximately half a mile, leading officers directly to a residence on Camelot, where the juvenile offenders were located.
