Lewisburg wins twice as Center Hill opens with a 9–0 shutout

Lewisburg’s girls edged Madison Central 2–1 at home Tuesday while the Patriots’ boys won 7–0 at Olive Branch, giving Lewisburg two victories on a day that also brought shutouts for Center Hill, Olive Branch’s girls and Southaven’s girls.
Girls soccer: Lewisburg wins by one
Lewisburg’s 2–1 victory put the Patriots at 1–0 to begin their posted varsity season. Madison Central fell to 0–1 in the October 27 nonregion match. Lewisburg next lists a home meeting with Lake Cormorant on Tuesday, November 3, at 5 p.m.
Olive Branch defeated visiting Horn Lake 3–0. The Conquistadors moved to 1–0, while the Eagles dropped to 0–1. Both teams return to action Thursday, October 29: Olive Branch travels to Byhalia for a posted 5 p.m. start, and Horn Lake hosts Center Hill at 5:30 p.m.
At South Panola, Southaven won 3–0 after scoring twice in the first half and once in the second. The Chargers improved to 3–0 in their posted season record, with South Panola at 0–1. Southaven’s next listed girls match is Thursday at Lafayette; the start time has not been posted.
Boys soccer: Mustangs score nine
Center Hill beat Independence 9–0 at home in its varsity opener. The Mustangs and Lewisburg each began 1–0 with clean sheets, while Independence and Olive Branch each opened 0–1.
Lewisburg’s 7–0 road victory came in Tuesday’s county matchup at Olive Branch. The Patriots next host Lake Cormorant November 3 at 7 p.m. Olive Branch visits Byhalia Thursday at 7 p.m.; Center Hill travels to Horn Lake that evening for a 7:30 p.m. boys match.
Southaven and South Panola finished tied 1–1 in Batesville. The result left the Chargers 2–0–1 and South Panola 0–0–1. Southaven next visits Lafayette Thursday at a posted 7 p.m.
Late result: Oxford–DeSoto Central, October 26
Oxford’s girls won 5–2 at DeSoto Central on Monday, October 26. That previously unreported final is newly verified and is separate from Tuesday’s results. It left the Jaguars 0–1.
DeSoto Central hosts Saltillo Thursday, with girls scheduled for 5 p.m. and boys for 7 p.m. Hernando travels to Starkville Thursday, girls at 5:30 p.m. and boys at 7 p.m. Lake Cormorant hosts Cleveland Central, with girls listed at 5 p.m. and boys at 7 p.m. All times are Mississippi local time.

Olive Branch’s October 25 varsity cheer placement at the Mid-South Regional remains result not yet reported. The October 26–27 boys Class 6A and 7A state golf leaderboards still show no scores; county entries and finishes remain unverified.
