County players to participate in MAC All-Star Games

DeSoto County basketball players will take the floor one more time for this season on Saturday when the Mississippi Association of Coaches holds it annual North/South All-Star Games for Classes 5A/6A/7A at Mississippi College’s A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton.

The girls’ game will be played 4 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 6 p.m.

Representing DeSoto County on the 5A/6A/7A North squad will be Jakeel Truss of Hernando, Jayden Smith of Lake Cormorant, Jordan Simmons of Horn Lake, and Reece Garrison of 6A state champion Olive Branch.

The 5A/6A/7A North All-Star roster will include Brianna Black of Olive Branch.

In addition, Horn Lake boys’ coach Chico Potts is one of the coaches for the North All-Star team.
