DeSoto County Football Regular Season Finale Set for Thursday

The DeSoto County football regular season finale is set for Thursday, Nov. 5, and this week has a lot riding on it. All five games involving the county’s public high schools are listed for Thursday night instead of Friday.

Lake Cormorant Chases a Perfect Regular Season

The Gators are 9-0 after grinding out a 14-6 home win over Grenada last Friday, Oct. 30. A win at Olive Branch would close the regular season at 10-0. Olive Branch is 3-7 after a 48-14 loss at South Panola last week. The Conquistadors close their season at home.

DeSoto Central Takes On Unbeaten Tupelo

DeSoto Central (7-2) is coming off a 39-14 home win over Hernando and now travels to Tupelo, which is 10-0. The Golden Wave beat Lewisburg 44-0 last Thursday, Oct. 29. It is the toughest road test of the season for the Jaguars and a strong measuring stick before the postseason.

Hernando-Southaven Rivalry and the Rest of the Slate

  • Hernando at Southaven: The Tigers (6-3) want to bounce back from the loss at DeSoto Central. Southaven (2-6) won 26-0 over Horn Lake last week and has a chance to end the season with back-to-back wins at home.
  • Horn Lake at Lewisburg: Lewisburg (3-6) hosts Horn Lake (1-8) in the season finale for both teams.
  • Center Hill at South Panola: Center Hill (7-2) beat Saltillo 35-7 last week and closes the regular season at South Panola (5-3), which just beat Olive Branch.
