Red Banks Road/I-22 overpass to close
Drivers who use the Red Banks Road overpass at I-22 in DeSoto County will need to be aware that the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is closing the overpass bridge for repair next week.
The temporary road closure will be from Monday, May 3 to Friday, May, 7, according to a release from MDOT.
Resurfacing the bridge is the reason for the closure.
During the closure, the final riding surface will be paved. The paving is part of a rehabilitation project that began earlier this year when the existing bridge deck was removed by hydrodemolition.
During the project, the I-22 ramps will be accessible. Advance warning signs will be in place. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
