Olive Branch urges residents to sign up for text severe-weather alerts

The City of Olive Branch urged residents to have multiple ways to receive severe-weather warnings and updates, city officials said.

Residents can receive alerts on mobile devices by texting “olivebranch” to 888777, the city said.

Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Police Department and Olive Branch Fire Department warned residents not to rely on sirens alone.

Officials encouraged residents to enroll in multiple alert methods to ensure they receive timely warnings, the city said.
