City of Olive Branch and DeSoto County officials urged residents to have multiple ways to receive severe-weather warnings and updates, city and county officials said.
The City of Olive Branch said residents can receive alerts on mobile devices by texting olivebranch to 888777.
An expired post time-stamped 04/28/29 at 8:52 p.m. said a severe thunderstorm warning had been issued for northern DeSoto County, with wind gusts up to 60 mph and pea-size hail, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and DeSoto County Government said.
The Sheriff’s Office and county government added that a ‘tornado possible’ tag meant a tornado could form inside the cell based on the radar signature, according to the post.
