Olive Branch officials urged residents to stay hydrated and take precautions during hot weather, according to a post shared by the National Weather Service in Memphis.
The message recommended drinking plenty of water, taking breaks in air conditioning or shaded areas, and checking on older adults, children and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat, the post said.
The post also warned residents never to leave children or pets in a parked vehicle and advised anyone who must be outside to limit strenuous activity and take frequent breaks, according to the message.
The post was signed by Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Fire and Police departments and was shared by the National Weather Service in Memphis, the social media message said.
