Olive Branch requires pets to be leashed, kept out of ponds in city parks

A city ordinance requires pets to be leashed and kept out of ponds in Olive Branch parks, Mayor Ken Adams and City of Olive Branch officials said. They said the rule is intended to protect public safety and local wildlife.

The only designated off-leash area in the city park system is Olive Bark Dog Park, officials said. The park is located next to the Homer Skelton Foundation Pickleball complex near the Old Goodman Road entrance.

Adams reminded residents that the ordinance applies to all pets and all city parks and urged compliance so everyone can enjoy the park system.

Adams concluded his message with a sign-off: “May the fourth be with you, OB!”
