Olive Branch converts extreme heat watch to areawide heat advisory through 8 p.m. Friday
Ken Adams, Olive Branch mayor, and the Olive Branch Police and Fire departments said an extreme heat watch has been converted to an areawide heat advisory that runs through 8 p.m. Friday.
Officials said confidence is low that heat indices will reach 110 degrees or higher because of uncertainty about potential storms in the latter half of the week.
The mayor and the city’s public safety agencies urged residents to stay cool and take precautions during the advisory.
The message addressed the broader Mid-South region, according to the statement from Adams and the Olive Branch police and fire departments.
