Olive Branch police officers attended the fifth-grade graduation of Elijah Cummins at Pleasant Hill Elementary School, the Olive Branch Police Department said in a social media post.
The department said Cummins has long told officers that he “loves the police” and that they “love him right back.”
In the post, the department called Cummins “one of the best young men we’ve had the pleasure of meeting” and said it had the “honor” of watching “our hero” graduate.
The department said it is “extremely proud” of Cummins and “excited to see all the great things ahead” as he enters middle school. The post was signed “Ken Adams, Olive Branch Mayor,” the department said.
