Olive Branch mayor urges thanks for officers during National Police Week
Ken Adams, Olive Branch mayor, urged residents on Wednesday to thank police officers or pray for their safety during National Police Week, the City of Olive Branch said in a statement.
Adams noted that residents are likely to see officers throughout the day β driving, eating at restaurants, patrolling neighborhoods, directing traffic or running radar on busy roadways β and suggested people take a moment to express appreciation.
In the statement, Adams thanked the men and women who serve the city, including officers, dispatchers and professional staff who work behind the scenes and on the front lines. “Thank you for your strength, your sacrifice, and for believing in those who have answered the call to serve and protect,” the statement said.
He also acknowledged the families of law enforcement personnel and called for continued prayers. “May God continue to watch over all law enforcement officers and their families during National Police Week and beyond,” the statement said.
