UPDATE: The 19-year-old wanted in a Horn Lake shooting earlier this week is now in custody. In an update posted to its Facebook page Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, the Horn Lake Police Department said Neyomiah Skinner was arrested on his outstanding warrant and taken into custody. The department had been searching for him in connection with a Monday evening shooting that sent an 18-year-old man to the hospital.
Police had described Skinner as armed and dangerous while he was being sought. He was wanted on a charge of aggravated assault.
Horn Lake shooting suspect arrested after two-day search
The Horn Lake shooting happened Monday, Sept. 21, shortly before 7 p.m. near Patricia Drive and Choctaw Drive. Officers responding to a shots-fired call found several spent rounds in the roadway on Patricia Drive.
Around the same time, officers learned that an 18-year-old man had arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto with a gunshot wound. Police said the man confirmed he had been shot in Horn Lake.
According to police, investigators obtained video footage showing the suspect firing multiple shots and then leaving the scene in a vehicle. Detectives identified the suspect as Skinner, and a search for him followed.

Several details about the arrest had not been released as of Wednesday night, including:
When and where Skinner was taken into custody
Whether he faces any charges in addition to aggravated assault
Where he is being held and whether bond has been set
The current condition of the 18-year-old victim, who has not been named
