Nakobe Dean Donates Gifts to Horn Lake First Responders, Police Say

Horn Lake Police Department said NFL linebacker Nakobe Dean sponsored gifts this year for employees of the Horn Lake Police Department and Horn Lake Fire Department.

The department said Dean, a former Horn Lake High School football standout, also sponsors an annual breakfast for area first responders through the Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe Foundation.

Department officials said employees were nominated by their peers based on who best embodied the qualities of a team player. Officers Bobby Moore and Andrew Taylor were recognized for what the department described as outstanding character, work ethic, dependability and commitment to others.

The department quoted peers saying Moore ‘‘never complains, willingly helps anyone in need — coworker or civilian — and always maintains a positive attitude,’’ and that he is ‘‘respectful, compassionate’’ and ‘‘consistently goes above and beyond’’ while exemplifying a ‘‘Team, You, Me’’ mindset. Peers described Taylor as ‘‘selfless, hardworking’’ and said he mentors younger officers and helps new hires feel welcomed and supported, the department said.

The Horn Lake Police Department thanked Dean and the Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe Foundation for their continued support of first responders and the Horn Lake community, the department said.
