Bowen named Hernando city Sports Director

Hernando officials have announced the hiring of Brittney Bowen as the new Sports Director for the City of Hernando. 

A native of Memphis and Southaven High School graduate, Bowen competed in track and field while earning a degree in Public Administration at Mississippi Valley State University. Bowen earned SWAC track and field All-Academic honors while at MVSU.  

Bowen also has an MBA with a concentration in Sports Administration from Belhaven University.  

Bowen has worked as a high school youth coordinator for Memphis Youth Ministries. 

With the City of Hernando Parks and Recreation Department, Bowen will serve as the programmer for youth baseball, youth and adult softball, t-ball, and basketball. 

When asked about her new role Bowen said that she is “looking forward to making a positive impact in the Hernando community and facilitating the opportunity for fun through our programs.”
