The Mississippi Department of Transportation announced Monday that repairs on bridges along Highway 78 will begin July 20, with temporary lane closures expected and completion slated for mid-August, officials said.

The Olive Branch Utilities Department will interrupt water service on Davidson Road beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday for a scheduled fire hydrant installation, Mayor Ken Adams said.

Driving Ms. Amy LLC said a new law requires completion of a state-certified course to apply for a driver’s license, and the company said it is certified to teach the course. A ribbon-cutting is scheduled Wednesday.

The Southaven Chamber of Commerce said it will hold its monthly “Coffee with a Member” event on Friday, July 24, at Angela Kidd Insurance. The chamber said the event will run from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and Coffee Central by Ethnos will provide the coffee.

Organizers said the Grits & Government networking breakfast will be held Thursday, July 23, at 8:30 a.m. at the First Regional Library with catering provided.

The Heindl Center for the Performing Arts announced it will stage a regional premiere of the musical “Finding Neverland” July 31-Aug. 2, and said tickets are on sale.

Old Hwy. 78 at Maywood Deive reopened and traffic was flowing normally after a crash that closed both lanes, Mayor Ken Adams and the City of Olive Branch government said.
