Victoria Franklin Jones, owner of The Buttercream Queen and author of a children’s book, has been welcomed to the local chamber of commerce. She is known for her creative baked goods and community involvement.

DeSoto County Farm Bureau Federation and its Ag in the Classroom program will bring hands-on farm activities to the Water Tower Tikes Kidz Zone on Saturday, Sept. 26, organizers said.

A 49-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Goodman Road late Thursday, the Horn Lake Police Department said.
