A pumpkin party featuring children’s activities and a pumpkin-carving contest is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, at Chick-fil-A Southaven, 235 Goodman Road West. The Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce announced the event.
Children ages 12 and younger can receive a free pie pumpkin to decorate. Participants ages 13 through adults can enter the carving contest in teams of two, with registration and prepayment required. Each team costs $20.
The organizers said only 20 team spots will be available. Prizes are listed as ranging from $150 to $50.
A face painter and other local vendors are also expected to participate. Contest entrants are directed to scan the QR code on the flyer to register and prepay.
