Person sought in October death, body found along I-55

Memphis police are looking for a person in connection with the October 2023 shooting death of a man whose body was found alongside I-55 near Hernando. 

On Oct. 29, 2023, Magdiel Robleto’s body was found alongside the interstate.Memphis police reported the investigation determined the victim was shot in Memphis and brought into DeSoto County. 

At the time of the incident, police say Robleto was reported missing by his family and was last seen leaving 3547 Macon Road in Memphis two days earlier with at least two additional male Hispanics.

The person seen in photos released Tuesday, Feb. 13 by the Memphis Police Department was determined to have been with Robleto when he left Memphis and drove into Mississippi.

Memphis authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying this person and should call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH. 

Back in October 2023, it was reported a young Hispanic man was found alongside the I-55 southbound lane. DeSoto County deputies were sent to the scene to investigate.  The southbound lanes of I-55 were closed south of Slocum Road while officials conducted their investigation.  He was later identified as Robleto.  

A man charged with murder in the case by Memphis police was 18-year-old Olman Raudales, who remains in the Shelby County Jail on $500,000 bond. Raudales, from Honduras, is charged with first degree murder and tampering with or fabricating evidence.
