Northpoint rallies past Lausanne in five sets; Horn Lake adds a late-reported win

Northpoint Christian won the final two sets Monday to beat Lausanne Collegiate 3–2 in girls varsity volleyball in Memphis, closing the match with a 15–5 fifth set.

The Trojans lost the opener 28–26, answered with a 30–28 second-set victory and fell behind again when Lausanne took the third 25–17. Northpoint stayed alive with a 25–23 fourth-set win before taking the deciding set by 10 points. The Sept. 28 district victory improved the Trojans to 23–3; Lausanne fell to 17–6. Match box score.

Northpoint returns home Tuesday, Sept. 29, to face Lewisburg at 6 p.m. Mississippi time. Center Hill follows with a Thursday visit, also at 6 p.m., according to the TSSAA schedule.

Late volleyball result: September 24

Horn Lake's home victory over Water Valley on Thursday, Sept. 24, is now reported as a 3–1 final. The Eagles won the first two sets 27–25 and 25–18, dropped the third 25–20 and finished the match with a 25–16 fourth set. The final resolves a result that remained unreported in earlier editions. Alongside Lewisburg's visit to Northpoint, Lake Cormorant hosts Olive Branch, Center Hill hosts Grenada, DeSoto Central hosts St. George's and Horn Lake hosts Tupelo. All four varsity volleyball matches are listed for 6 p.m.
