Missing person found dead in Memphis

Southaven Police Tuesday updated a missing persons report on Bonita Adams to state that Adams was found dead in Memphis.

Police, on Sept. 26, put out a call for the public’s assistance in finding Adams. She was last seen Sept. 13 at the Raceway gas station on Stateline Road West near the I-55 interchange.

The 36-year-old Black woman was found on Sept. 14 by Memphis Police, according to a Facebook update by the Southaven Police Department, but was not positively identified until Monday, Oct. 2.

According to media reports, a pedestrian was struck by a train late the night of Sept. 14 at Castalia and East Person in Memphis. The victim was found dead on the tracks and the victim was identified as Adams.

The case is still active with the Memphis Police Department, according to the Southaven department post.
