The organization said it is celebrating its speech therapy team this May as part of Better Speech and Hearing Month, a period the group described as raising awareness about communication, speech, language, hearing and feeding development in children and adults.
In a statement, the organization said speech therapy supports more than pronunciation. It said therapy can help with understanding language, expressing needs, social interaction, feeding skills, fluency, voice and confidence in everyday communication.
The organization said it is thankful for its speech therapy team and for the work team members perform daily to help children. The group said each team member loves their work and makes a meaningful difference for the people they serve.
The organization said it will mark the month by celebrating the team and raising awareness about the services speech therapists provide to children and adults.
