Olive Branch police lieutenant dies in ATV accident
Officials in Olive Branch said Monday a lieutenant in the police department died over Easter weekend from an ATV accident. Lt. Ronnie Flanigan was identified as the victim of the accident.
Lt. Flanigan began his career with the Olive Branch Police Department in 2003 and worked his way up the ranks to Lieutenant in 2014. In addition to numerous training certifications he earned over the years, Lt. Flanigan received several letters from citizens thanking him for going above and beyond; families grieving and him there by their side, and company representatives acknowledging his efforts making sure they were safe.
Flanigan leaves his wife Martha, a son and a daughter, who both are first responders in Olive Branch.
Mayor Ken Adams has ordered that all City of Olive Branch flags be lowered to half staff, Thursday, April 24 in memory of, and out of respect for, Lt. Flanigan and his family.
Services for Lt. Flanigan will be handled by Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch, with visitation at First Baptist Church Olive Branch (9155 Highland Street) Thursday, April 24, from 12 noon until 2 p.m, and service immediately after.
